Standards of Care

• Routine & Structure: Dogs thrive on consistency. Our walkers adhere to predictable schedules and adjust to each pet’s unique temperament, energy levels, and needs. We ensure walks occur within structured arrival windows (1–3 hours) for a stress-free experience.

• Potty Break Guidelines: Dogs should not go more than 8 hours without a break to prevent health risks. We follow age-appropriate guidelines for their well-being.

• Enrichment-Focused Walks: Every walk includes mental and physical stimulation, such as sniff walks, structured work walks, or tailored activities based on the dog’s preferences.

• Transparency: Real-time updates, including photos, GPS-tracked routes, and observations, keep you informed about your pet’s experience.

• Quick Relief (20 Minutes): A brief bathroom break and refresh, ideal for older or less active dogs.

• Standard Walks (30, 45, 60 Minutes): Tailored to your dog’s age, breed, and energy level, these walks balance exercise and exploration.

• Extended Care: For pets requiring additional attention, care can be extended in 15-minute increments. After an hour, extended care fees apply.

• Puppy & Senior Dog Plans: Frequent, shorter visits with playtime, potty breaks, and age-specific care.

All Pals are animal CPR First Aid Certified, privately licensed bonded and insured and must pass a criminal background check, as well as having prior experience with dogs.

• Positive Reinforcement Only: At PetPals, we are committed to using Positive Reinforcement Only in all our interactions with your pets. We are 100% force free and will never ask a pet to go or do something they are not comfortable with doing willingly. This approach emphasizes rewarding desired behaviors to build trust, confidence, and a strong bond between pets and their walkers. By focusing on encouragement rather than correction, we create a stress-free environment that fosters learning, engagement, and happiness for every pet in our care

• Environmental Awareness: Walkers plan safe routes and stay alert to hazards like traffic and harmful objects.

• Defensive Dog Walking: We minimize interactions with unknown dogs, enforce leash control, and prioritize safety through professional training.

• Equipment & Wellness: Proper leashes, harnesses, and tools ensure control and comfort. Walkers adapt to weather conditions, monitor well-being, and use treats mindfully.

• Two Points of Contact: At all times while walking our Pals ensure two points of contact on the leash as a base standard for walking and security.

• Updated Information: Provide accurate contact details and health updates.

• Pet Care Instructions: Share behavioral notes or special needs to tailor our care.
