Founder

I graduated from Prescott College with my BA in Human Development in Psychology in 2020. During the height of the pandemic, I spent my time pursuing a Masters in Counseling. As I entered the field, I was torn between the change we were taught was possible and the reality of accessible long-term mental health services.

Torn between the highly competitive field of mental health counseling and wanting to engage in the community meaningfully, compassionately, and authentically, I helped found Pet Pals.

Pet Pals encourages individuals to take charge of their lives by making financial independence more accessible. Pet Pals offers alternative career opportunities by encouraging positive physical and mental health through urban exploration. All while building compassionate, caring relationships with animals to sustain positive, long-term mental health benefits.

We engage with the community on the ground floor of compassion. Pets provide their humans with companionship, loyalty, love, and compassion. We provide the simple service of ensuring people’s pets are taken care of.

Favorite hobbies

I love research just like my dad. I don't know if that can be considered a hobby but I do spend most of my free time learning something. I have a few degrees in psychology, human development, environmental justice, and, hopefully soon, counseling. If I'm not learning something, I love a good puzzle or audiobook, and I do a lot of illustration work, so art as well. Trying to teach myself the accordion, but it's not going well.

What are you listening to?

Audio books, lo-fi jazz, and while out I listen and identify birds.

What makes you passionate for petcare? Why this work?

I honestly never imagined I would be in the position I am now. I have always loved animals but with this, it's not just about the pets, it's the community too. I find a greater sense of purpose in creating safe spaces for anxious pets and working with them through long term care to meet their goals of breaking down residual trauma.

What do you want your clients to know about you?

I love your pets just as much as you do. When you are successful, I am successful. When your dog has a hard day, I will always be here to get them through those moments.

What neighborhood can you be found walking in?

Everywhere. I am everyones backup sitter in case your primary person isnt available. I strive to meet everyones needs as best I can which often means I can be found walking anywhere from St. Johns to Oak Grove. If you see me in your emails, I also run scheduling and day to day management as the field manager for the team.

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

Bird. I love how free they are, untethered and unrestricted. But if I were to be an animal, I would say German Shepard. I am loyal to the point of bullheaded stubbornness. I can’t sit still until I have a job or task, and then I will hyperfocus on it to the point of perfection. I think Shepards are inherently intimidating until you get to know them and find out that they are just genuine soft, lovable goofballs underneath, which I definitely agree with.

2023

What’s your favorite weather to walk in?

Spring. There’s nothing like making it through the winter, shedding those layers, and stepping out into full spring bloom. Being so active in the community, it’s been really incredible to watch how the environment and social community in neighborhoods shift from season to season. Spring for the flowers, rain , and sun. Summer for the river days, fall for the beautiful landscapes and cozy vibes, winter for the quiet solitude and always present sense of adventure.
